Road: Penguin can design a light-weight race machine to reach your peak performance or a reliable steed for years of comfortable road riding.

Cyclocross: Whether you are a down and dirty cross racer or just looking for a light bike that can handle dirt paths a Penguin cyclocross bike gets you across the finish line and back home.

Mountain: For cruising double track or attacking technical single track, Penguin makes hard tail and rigid mountain bike frames. Try the common 26’er size, the popular 29’er for a smoother ride, or the new 650B size that merges the benefits of the 26 & 29.

Commuting & Touring: Short and long distance treks are great on a Penguin designed for comfort, reliability, and handling. Transportation and City bikes can be designed for on or off road travel.

More... Do you have specific needs or a creative idea? We can help your idea come to fruition. Single speed designs, S and S couplings, internal cable routing, multiple brake mounts, rack or fender mounts, and more. A large variety of design options are available for your custom frame and can be discussed when you contact us. The purchase of a Penguin frame includes a Chris King headset, seat post clamp, up to two water bottle mounts, one type of brake mount, all necessary cable stops and guides, and a 2 color paint job (base color plus logo color) with clearcoat.

DESIGN

Each Penguin frame is carefully designed using a rider's individual characteristics. An in-house frame geometry optimization program helps determine the best fit for each customer based on their physical attributes. But fit is more than just your physical dimensions. Many other important factors are considered in the design including your riding style and preferences; plus your flexibility and any nagging problems; and more. The result of all these considerations is a bike that is well matched to its rider.

FABRICATION
All Penguin frames are TIG welded from strong alloy steel tubes, while small non-structural parts are brazed on. Tubes are carefully jigged and methodically welded to ensure the frame is true and reliable. The inside of all frames are coated with Frame Saver and the outside fully painted or powder coated for rust prevention. See pictures of our fabrication process on our gallery page.

FINISH
Penguin Cycles will work with you to find a finish that reflects your personality. Keith Anderson Cycles, in Grant's Pass, OR, wet paints all Penguin frames and Spectrum Powder Works in Colorado does all powder coat finishes. Penguin can help transfer everything from intricate details or vague notions into brilliant paint jobs so that you can ride away on a bike that reflects your unique style.

COMPONENTS
Selecting the right components is an important step in the fit and customization of your bike. Penguin can help you through the entire process including appropriate gearing combinations, proper handle bar fit, wheel selection, crank length, and the best components to meet your needs, whether that is performance, durability, comfort, and/or price.
